Delhi University

The famous Delhi University for the highest cut off was established in 1922. Presently, DU has 16 Faculties, 86 Academic Departments, 77 Colleges and 5 Recognised Institutes. Internationally, the University of Delhi was ranked 481-490 in the QS World University Rankings of 2018.

Jawaharlal Nehru University

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) was established in 1969 in Delhi. This is Research Oriented University and instead of colleges, JNU offers undergraduate, postgraduate, MPhil and research courses through various schools and centers.

Banaras Hindu University

The Banaras Hindu University (BHU), located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, was established in 1916 and currently around 2,500 students, including 2,500 Research Scholars and 650 foreign students are receiving higher education. Here the importance of Hindu scripture and Sanskrit language is given importance.

University of Hyderabad

The University of Hyderabad was established in 1974. It is also known as Hyderabad Central University. Aligarh Muslim University, located in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, was established in 1877 with the name of Muhmaddan Anglo Oriental College. Previously it was affiliated with the University of Calcutta. In 1885, it was affiliated with the University of Allahabad. After this, in the year 1920, it became Aligarh Muslim University. The campus of this university is spread over 467.6 hectares.

Osmaniya university

Osmanya University, located in Hyderabad, was established in the year 1918. The name of this university is named after the seventh and last Nizam of Hyderabad, Nawab Mir Osman Ali Khan. It is the first university in the country where it is studied in Urdu.

University of madras

The University of Madras, located in Chennai, was established in 1857. It is a collegiate research university and has six campuses – Chepak, Marina, Guindy, Taramani, Madurawoyl and Cheetpet. Currently there are 73 academic departments, 109 affiliated colleges and 52 approved research institutes. The University has also received five stars from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAS).

Jadavpur University

Jadavpur University was established in Kolkata in 1955. There are two campuses – Main campus is in Jadavpur and the new campus is located on Salt Lake. Apart from this, its third campus is to be opened early in front of the main campus.

Jamia Millia Islamia

Jamia Millia Islamia University, located in Delhi, was founded in 1920 during the British rule. In 1998, it was declared a Central University under the Indian Constitution. Dr. Zakir Hussain was the first Vice Chasler here. Jamia Millia offers academic and extension programs in 9 faculties. Its Anwar Jamal Kidwai Mass Communication Research Center is very prestigious.
